Taking it Slowly

March 4, 2012

The sun’s getting so strong that you could easily be fooled that it’s really warm outside. Yet no matter how eager we might feel to get out and do things, we should take it easy. Take it slowly – just as nature does.

On my walk through the woods I still managed to see some snow jewels. A huge white patch in the shade of some tall pine trees…

Moss might still be the brightest colour, drawing our attention, but not for long now: bare trunks will get a robe of fresh green leaves and everything will seem somehow lighter. I’ll point my camera at blossoming gardens, rooms flooded with spring rays and generally happy surroundings…

Meanwhile, everything’s a bit dull – like the dry and smooth bark of a fallen tree…

We’re taking it slowly, yet breathing in the promise of big changes!

I’m just back from yoga – my second class after a break of almost three years! I will go gently; take it slowly; breath in the promise of big changes; at one with Nature. Your post is so timely and exactly reflects how I am feeling.

Your images are beautiful. I have just started to blog and I really like the way your watermark is unobtrusive and would like to use something like that for my pictures. How do you create it? I hope you don’t mind my asking….

Thank you for your nice comment, Mary. I’m really glad I could grasp the way people feel – we aren’t that different after all!

I’ve never tried yoga, but it seems it’s something that suits you, if even a three year break didn’t “kill” your urge to practise it. Hmm… I guess I should at least try some exercises.

As for the watermark, I will be glad to help you. I use Photoshop, but I asume you could also use Gimp (you can download it for free). You just need to create a layer of text (or it could be a logo) that you put above your photos and then change its opacity to lets say 20 or 30%.

P.S. If you use Photoshop and would like me to tell you where all these actions can be found, just drop me a line on: decorartuk@gmail.com

For some reason I only saw the first part of your reply..about the yoga. Now I am reading the full text and so much appreciate your feedback and advice about the watermark. Thank you so much and, yes, I will follow up on it.
