The Zeitgeist Movement

August 21, 2013

I’m afraid I’ve gone all serious these days… I’m thinking about serious things and watching wise documentaries, so here’s one I wanted to share with you. BUT before you click that link…

Have you heard of the zeitgeist* movement? I must admit this was my first introduction. I stumbled upon this film on the internet and the very first sentences intrigued me to the extent that I spent nearly 3 hours watching it.

“In a decaying society, art, if it is truthful, must also reflect decay. And unless it wants to break faith with its social function, art must show the world as changeable. And help to change it.”
Ernst Fischer

So when you have time and if you want to find out a lot about human nature, social relations, economy and consuming society, also ways to change this world, please watch this film – Zeitgeist: Moving Forward (click on the link).

*Zeitgeist – the spirit of the time; general trend of thought or feeling characteristic of a particular period of time.

Well, I go through phases of being too serious and this is obviously one of them… there’s nothing wrong with it, as such things make us more responsible for our actions, yet I want my “joie de vivre” back…

Hi! Nice to hear from you! I hope everything’s going well at your end? That film is a bit long, but it’s worth watching.

I am well thanks and the film died on my slow internet connect but I’ve been meaning to give a shout out to you….are you married now?

Hi back! Things are well here and with you – are you married now? My slow internet crashed before I did but I do appreciate you throwing stuff out there.

Hello! To be honest with you I also haven’t finished watching that film – there’s still about half an hour left, but I will fit it in as that’s where they start talking about creativity and that money isn’t the main incentive (because it really isn’t).

P.S. I’m still not married. I’m beginning to think I have some kind of weird phobia… of vows and white dresses.
