I promised you a sweet break for this Saturday, so here it is – we’ll be making sweet sweet nuts.
At the moment all German Christmas markets are busy selling all kinds of treats. Big cities and small towns traditionally have stalls that offer mulled wine, ginger-breads and all kinds of candied nuts – any you can think of: almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, macadamias… I must admit they do smell gorgeous and it’s almost impossible to pass such stalls (especially if I can smell cinnamon), that’s why I decided that it would be great to try and make some candied nuts at home (it must be possible, right?).
I found a good recipe on Smitten Kitchen’s website, so if you’d like to try it out, please click here.

I hope you will find time to make such nuts for your family and friends – they make a good homemade Christmas gift (there’s too much stuff made in China these days, don’t you think?)!
Lets meet tomorrow. K.
